Thank you for introducing our board to Elizabeth Gallimore to take on Interim Executive Director. She was the right person for the job and the job was not easy, as they rarely are when there is a significant change in leadership. Elizabeth coaxed a fairly green Board through the process, gently nudging us as to the next steps and gaining unanimous agreement as to who the next Executive Director should be. In the same time period, she was the driving force in hiring two other staff we needed, onboarding and helping with training. Her honesty with the Board was tempered with understanding, compassion and patience. And humor.

But she did so much more than that; traveling to Eugene weekly to meet and then coach a young staff with understanding, grace and guidance, ultimately empowering them to step up to their full potential and take ownership of the organization.  That had not been done previously. Consequently, the office atmosphere improved – there were smiles and laugher and cooperation from staff that I had not seen in the four years I have been on the Board. She recognized each person, starting them on a true career path and giving them permission to shine.

Elizabeth, with the HR experience she had, also knew when to step away and let the ship sail on its own. Which is happening! In short, no one else could have completed all these tasks and milestones with such grace and dignity.  She is an amazing person and an outstanding professional.
